Finally Back to Work

Well, after a very long time off I am finally back to work. It has been a rough year with the loss of my father more than a year ago in January. I appreciate the support I have recieved from all of my loyal customers and business partners. It's hard to believe how much time has flown by. I am going to start back small and just take orders for formal dog collars and cuffs, dog collar sleeves and personalized dog blankets. I want to test the waters and see if I can keep up with the demand. When I put things on hold last year I just had more orders than I could handle. It's harder to be a work at home mom than I realized. Now, as my kids are getting older, I think it will be a little easier to juggle the demand of work and hockey games, dance lessons, field trips, dentist appointments. All of you moms know what I am talking about. If all goes well, I will be adding more products to my website starting with dog wedding dresses and tuxedos. Then I will add the personlized dog shirts and coats. Then all of the holiday items. Probably won't do costumes anymore. As much as I love doing them it just takes to long and is hard to make any profit. And at the end of the day I am working to make a small profit so that I can stay at home with my kids and not have to go and find a 9 to 5 job. Wish me luck and visit me at www.mytinydog.com

Logan in his new personalized fleece hoodie

Doesn't my new friend Logan, a.k.a. "Tater" look great in his new hoodie. It's very warm and I keep telling my mom that I need one too. Maybe today she will find the time to make one for me too. It's getting cold here! How cold is too cold for a little doggie to be outside?

About My Dog Tater

I want to tell you a little about my tiny dog, Tater. We rescued Tater from a no kill shelter, Beacon Animal Rescue. They rescued him from the Burlington County Animal Shelter. Tater is a Chihuahua/Terrior mix and he is about 6 years old--give or take a year or two. He came to us very well behaved, at first. I guess he was testing the waters . . .  I do believe he must have had another home at one time. In the beginning, we couldnlt understand how such a cute, well-behave dog could end up in a shelter. But now, after having him for a year we're starting to have an idea or two . . . First, and foremost, he is a runner! If he escapes out of the house or yard off he goes. Luckily he loves car rides more than he loves to run. I've had to drive around the block a time or two to find him "footloose and fancy free". I just open the car door and call him and in he goes. Lucky for me. We try to be carefull not to let him get loose, but sometimes the kids leave the door open and he is free to roam the wide open spaces. We live in a woodland community on over an acre and do not have a fence. Well, at least until recently, but that's another story for another time. Another reason he may have wound up in a shelter . . . .Tater has a little trouble holding "it", if you know what I mean. We now have that under control but not after having to replace some carpet. But that's another story for another time. Third reason Tater may have wound up in a shelter . . . Tater likes trash. And yes, that is another story for another time. Lucky for Tater he's cute and we love him and will never let him end up in a shelter again.
